A.R. Berdiales formed in Monterrey, Mexico in the early 1970s. The group's sound drew from Mexican folk music, soul, and rock, with Armando Berdiales on vocals, Ricardo Fuentes on guitar, and Álvaro Ríos handling rhythm. They released albums like "Ayer y Hoy" in 1974 and "Sentimiento" in 1976.
Their song "Maña Por A Maña Saco El Cuito" became their most recognizable track. Other songs in their catalog include "Sacateme D'ei," "A Matanza Blues," and "Ahí sigues Viva."
Some critics found their music sentimental, but they maintained a loyal following. The band's 1978 self-titled album was their last major release.
