A Simetria formed in São Paulo in 2003 around brothers Ricardo and Rodrigo Simões, with Fernando Nunes on bass and Felipe Ribeiro on drums. They spent their early years playing shows around the city, building a following through steady live work.
Their 2007 single "Apenas o Começo" became a breakthrough, its melody and lyrics connecting with listeners and bringing wider attention. Other songs like "Cientista do Destino" and "Banquete Dos Heróis" followed in their catalog.
The band has occasionally drawn attention for positions on social issues, and faced plagiarism allegations in 2012 that were later dismissed. They've continued to release music, including tracks like "Dona Dos Prazeres" and "Porta a Fora do Sagrado."
