The group formed in 1978 and scored a global dance hit two years later.

For the hit, obviously 'Boogie Oogie Oogie'. But 'Your Love' and 'Ave Maria' show the quieter side of their catalog.

They landed a number one on the Billboard Dance chart with 'Boogie Oogie Oogie' in 1980, a track that became a worldwide hit. Their catalog includes songs like 'Your Love' and 'Ave Maria', and they kept recording into the late '80s and early '90s.

Janice Marie Johnson and Hazel Payne formed the group in 1978 and signed to Capitol the next year. Johnson left in 1984, and Payne continued with new members, releasing albums like 'I'll Try Something New' in 1986 and 'Bitter & Sweet' in 1990.
