Her songs like "Drown" and "Lonely Girl" show a mix of pop-punk energy and quieter ballad moments. She's put out six studio albums total, with Head Above Water arriving in 2019.
In 2014, Lavigne was diagnosed with Lyme disease, which led to a break from music. She's spoken about that experience publicly since returning to recording.
