A.B Crazzy came out of Salvador, Bahia in the early 1990s. The group was built around vocalist Alexandre Borges (Xanddy), guitarist Bruno Magnata, percussionist Marcos Barreto, and keyboardist Uziel Bueno.
Their 1995 single "Ana Beatriz!" became a hit, but the band's lyrics and stage shows drew criticism from conservative corners. They faced a lawsuit from a former member over financial and copyright issues, though they came through it and kept going.
Marcos Barreto left in 2008 to work solo, and A.B Crazzy disbanded in 2012. After that, Xanddy formed Harmonia do Samba, Bruno Magnata worked as a session guitarist, and Uziel Bueno continued producing and writing music.
