Abdenio Ribeiro grew up in Araras, São Paulo, where the landscape of the interior shaped his connection to rural life. He started playing guitar early, drawing from sertanejo and modinha traditions. In 1985, he put out his first album, 'Cantar para o Povo,' which introduced his straightforward approach to songwriting.
His third album, 'Sonhos de um Peão,' came out in 1991 and included 'Ranchinho de Palha,' a song that became widely known for its plain-spoken depiction of country living. Other tracks like 'Aline' and 'Cidadão' also reflect his focus on everyday stories and settings. He recorded with musicians including Eraldo Bissoli on guitar, Roberto Mendes on bass, and Marco Aurélio on drums.
Later albums like 'Raízes Sertanejas' (1995) and 'Alma Caipira' (2000) continued in a similar vein, with songs such as 'Beleza de Rosa' and 'Garçom' keeping to his rural themes. He released 'O Trovador do Sertão' in 2010.
