Abel is a Dutch pop band from Utrecht that started in 2016. Their first single "Onderweg" became a hit in the Netherlands, leading to their debut album "Onderweg Naar Jou" the following year. The band consists of singer-songwriter Jesse van de Wetering, guitarist Mathijs van de Werken, and drummer Coen Bosveld.
They've released two more albums since then: "Storm" in 2019 and "De Echte Wereld" in 2021. Their songs like "Tu És Lindo Meu Jesus," "Novo Dia," and "Ademloos" show their mix of pop with some acoustic and rock elements, usually about everyday life and relationships.
In 2018, there was some talk about them possibly copying another artist's melody, but that got sorted out without much fuss. They've built a following in the Netherlands with straightforward pop songs that people seem to connect with.
