Abner formed in New York City in the early 2000s with Jason Corder on vocals, Chris Keating on guitar, Will Campbell on bass, and Adam Haber on drums. They put out their debut album, 'The Big Boy Album,' in 2005. The single 'Big Boy' got some attention, with its mix of rock, pop, and soul elements.
They released a few more records after that, like 'The Follow-Up' in 2007 and 'The Third Album' in 2010. There was talk of some internal disagreements in the band around that time, but they kept working. Their 2013 EP was simply called 'The EP.'
