Absinto 3 formed in Rio de Janeiro with Rafael Bittencourt on vocals and guitar, Fernando Amado on bass, and Andre Falcão on drums. They put out their first album, "Litoral," in 1993, which got some attention for mixing melodic rock with pop and alternative touches. The song "Deixar Os Erros" became one of their better-known tracks.
They followed that with a few more records like "Tribo da Lua" in 1996 and a self-titled album in 1998. The band had some rough patches early on, with Bittencourt later talking about dealing with depression and addiction. They kept playing and put out a live album, "Ao Vivo," in 2002.
