Absinto Rock Drive formed in São Paulo in 1997. The original lineup included Roni Eisenberg on vocals and guitar, Edgard Scandurra on guitar and vocals, Fernando "Fergo" Ferreira on bass, and Lucas Silveira on drums. Roni and Edgard remained the core members through various lineup changes.
The band released it anyway as a protest against censorship.
They put out several albums between 1999 and 2019, including "Oficina do Diabo" in 2003 and "Revolução" in 2014. Another track, "Ovelha desgarrada," appears among their top songs.
