Absoluuttinen Nollapiste

Absoluuttinen Nollapiste formed in Finland in the mid-1990s, with Tommi Liimatainen handling vocals, guitar, and electronics. Their 1995 debut album shared the band's name, but it was the following year's 'Matkustajakoti Lintukoto' that became their most recognized work. That album's title track, along with songs like '1900-luvun heleys' and 'Ääniäallot Tappaa Syövän,' established their atmospheric, introspective sound.

The group's music blended electronica, ambient textures, and folk elements, creating soundscapes that resisted simple genre labels. They released albums steadily through the late 1990s and 2000s, including 'Dynamo' in 1998, 'Elokuu' in 2001, and 'Siunattu hulluus' in 2008. Their catalog also includes 'Musta aurinko nousee' from 2011 and 'Vapaa' from 2013.

Beyond Liimatainen, the band included Aki Hakala on keyboards and programming, Mikko Hakala on bass guitar, and Aake Otsala on drums and percussion. Their lyrics often drew from Finnish folklore and mythology, adding another layer to their distinctive approach. While their early work received mixed reactions, their atmospheric style found an audience that appreciated its experimental nature.
