A Belgian band that's been quietly building a catalog of thoughtful, sometimes debated songs since the late '90s.
For a good sense of their sound, try 'That's (a) Lousy Story' or 'If You Don't Go, I Don't Go'. They're both pretty straightforward and give you the idea.
They've stuck around for over two decades, putting out albums like 'Bittereinder' and 'Lost & Found' without much fuss. The song 'That's (a) Lousy Story' from 2005 actually caused a bit of a stir when it came out, which isn't something you hear every day from a Belgian indie act. Tracks like 'If You Don't Go, I Don't Go' and 'Moodswing Baby' show they know how to write a solid, memorable tune.
They started in 1999, originally called Dinky Toys, and put out their first album 'Envoi' in 2002. Since then, they've kept releasing records every few years, from 'Melodie' in 2008 to 'Rhythm & Blues' in 2018, with Ruben Block joining on vocals and keyboards along the way.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
