Archive material and source history

A.C.A.B. was a British punk band that formed in the late 1970s. Their name stood for "All Cops Are Bastards," which gave a clear sense of where they were coming from. They played raw, aggressive punk rock with lyrics about police repression and working-class struggles.

Their song "You'll Never Walk Alone" became something of an anthem, though it wasn't the kind you'd hear on mainstream radio. Other tracks like "We are A.C.A.B.," "Born to be Skins," and "Fight for your right" carried similar themes. The band's original lineup included Steve Ignorant on vocals, Carlo Ferrari on guitar, Gizz Butt on bass, and Clive Wilson on drums.

They released several albums in the early to mid-1980s, including The Skins and Punks in 1981, Bathtub in 1982, and Victims in 1984.
