Acaso formed in Spain in the early 2000s when singer-songwriter Luis Javier Bellido met guitarist Pepe Bao. They were joined by bassist Javi Canales and drummer Antonio Moreno, making a quartet that played melodic rock. Their first album came out in 2005, simply called 'Acaso'. The title track 'Acaso' got attention for its catchy rhythm and lyrics about love and loss.
Their second album 'Materia' arrived in 2008 and drew some criticism for shifting away from their earlier sound. Still, it had singles like 'No Me Verás' and 'Sólo Tú' that kept them popular in Spain. By 2010, they put out 'El Silencio de los Sueños', which experimented with electronica and ambient touches. That record split their audience but showed they weren't sticking to one formula.
Other songs like 'O Tempo' and 'Preço Alto' also became part of their set. They kept playing live through those years, building a following without much fuss about being groundbreaking or iconic.
