Access Denied was a New York band that put out their debut album 'A Rose Is A Rose' in 1999. The title track from that record became one of their better-known songs, along with 'Down On The Bayou' and 'Highway 61.'
They were a trio with Mark Thornock on vocals, Brian McAlary on guitar, and Mike DeAngelo on drums. Their lyrics sometimes touched on social and political topics, which drew mixed reactions.
Thornock had some issues with substance abuse that affected the band, and DeAngelo faced personal struggles as well. They managed to release another album called 'The Great Divide' in 2002 before things seemed to quiet down.
