Accidental Charm

Accidental Charm formed in Los Angeles in the early 2000s with Amelia Hayes on vocals, Ethan James on guitar, Lucas Carter on bass, and Daniel Hayes on drums. They released their debut album 'A Thousand Shadows' in 2005, which included the song 'Another Bride' that became their most recognizable track. The band put out a few more albums like 'Echoes of Yesterday' and 'Whispers in the Wind' over the following years.

Their music often gets described as indie rock with folk elements, though that classification feels loose. Songs like 'As April Stumbled In' and 'Cherry Run' have a straightforward melodic quality that doesn't try too hard to fit any particular scene. The arrangements stay relatively simple, built around Hayes' vocals and James' guitar work.

In 2009, Amelia Hayes took some time away from the band for personal reasons, but returned to continue recording and performing. A few years later, they dealt with a copyright dispute over a sample in one of their songs, though they resolved it without major disruption to their work.

They've kept a steady presence without becoming a mainstream fixture, playing shows and putting out material that maintains the same basic approach they established early on. Beyond 'Another Bride,' tracks like 'Behind the Wall' and 'Crystal Palace' show the consistent tone they've maintained across their catalog.
