Accidental Superhero formed in San Francisco in 1997 with Brent Harding on vocals and guitar, Jason Urich on bass, Aaron Anderson on drums, and Emily Jones on keyboards. Their debut album 'The Unseen World' came out in 2000, and its lead single 'Lay Down Your Head' got some attention. They put out three more albums: 'The Edge of Dawn' in 2003, 'Supernova' in 2007, and 'The Line of Fire' in 2010.
Emily Jones left the band during the making of 'The Edge of Dawn,' and their sound shifted a bit after that. They worked with producer Rick Rubin on that album and had guest spots from Slash on 'Supernova' and Dave Grohl on 'The Line of Fire.' In 2005, they did a cover of Led Zeppelin's 'Kashmir' that some people didn't like.
The band went on hiatus around 2012. After that, Harding released a solo EP, Urich and Anderson started a band called The Lost Souls, and Jones returned to music with her own solo work. Songs like '14 Miles,' 'Brainiac,' and 'Hope' are part of their catalog.
