Archive material and source history
Accuser formed in Essen in 1982, playing German thrash metal with a hard edge. They kept at it, putting out records like 'Who Dominates Who' and 'Double Talk' in the late eighties.
Guitarist René Schütz has been the one constant member through all the lineup changes. The band nearly fell apart in the early 2000s when their label went under and other members left, but Schütz put together a new group and released 'Repent' in 2004. Their songs include titles like 'Alcowhore,' 'Amnesia,' and 'Beneath Your Dignity.'
They've made eight albums total, and while their sound has picked up some hardcore and death metal touches along the way, it's stayed rooted in thrash. They're still playing that style today.
