The Shepherd Takes The Lead

I hate your voices discordant sound,

screaming around, about and loud,

to thoughtless youth, its pleasuring yeilds,

and takes from cities, towns and fields,

to sell your freedom for deadly arms

one mans greed puts all in harm,

and when ambition's voice commands,

to march to fly and fall in distant lands....

To me it talks of everything,

to me it talks of thoughts gone wrong

I hate your voices discordant sound,

pretending our courage will make you proud,

into the valley of the shadow of death,

we will fight til' our death until we have nothing left...

and all that misery's hand bestows,

to fullfill what all of humanity knows,

we march at first light and morning dew,

only the brave and only the few...

only the few

To me it talks of everything,

to me it talks of thoughts gone wrong

to me it talks of empty words, leading us, his final herd,

whether we live, or perish in pain, i hope in your heart,

lies our bloodstains...

to me it talks of ravaged plains, burning towns and dark bloodstains,

mangled limbs and dying groans,

widows tears and orphans moans

the shepherd sends the sheep in the darkness,

where nasty wolves hide in the shadows,

the shadows which hide the ultimate battle,

between man and machine, and personal struggle....
