ACME formed in São Paulo in the early 1990s with Tiê Castro on guitar and vocals, Beto Bruno on bass, and Dinho Almeida on drums. They spent those first years playing shows around the city, trying to get their music heard.
In 1998 they released the album 'Ponto de Fusão,' which included the title track and songs like 'A Jóia' and 'A Teia.' That record found an audience, though some critics at the time found their sound too scattered or their lyrics too inward-looking.
They kept making albums over the next fifteen years, putting out 'Arquitetura Natural' in 2002, 'Entropia' in 2006, and 'Eterno Retorno' in 2013. Their later work incorporated more electronic textures and jazz touches alongside the rock foundation of songs like 'Banais' and 'Bela.'
