They started under the name Lume before changing to Aço Rápido in 1989. Their first album came out in 1991, followed by a second called Eldorado.
Their song 'Libertas Quae Sera Tamen' became particularly known during Brazil's political shifts in the early 1990s. Other tracks like 'Depois da Guerra' and 'Guerra Civil' carried similar themes. The band's heavy metal sound and direct lyrics drew attention from both fans and critics at the time.
