Archive material and source history

Across The Border was a British-Canadian rock band that formed in 2002. The group included Michael Cretu on keyboards and vocals, Cornelia Cretu on vocals, and Chris O'Brien on guitars and vocals. Michael and Cornelia were originally from Romania, while Chris came from Canada.

Their debut single '20th Of July' came out in 2003 and became their most recognizable song. That same year they released their first album, simply titled 'Across The Border'. They followed it with 'Into The Blue' in 2005 and 'The Road To Paradise' in 2007.

Cornelia Cretu left the band in 2005, leaving Michael and Chris to continue as a duo. Their songs like 'Sun, Moon And Stars' and 'A New England' showed their mix of rock with melodic pop elements. They put out a compilation called 'The Best Of Across The Border' in 2009.
