A Los Angeles band that kept playing progressive metal through member shifts.
For a sense of their sound, try 'May Silence Keep You' or 'The Infinite Divide.' They're both from that 2009-2012 period when the band was finding its footing after the early lineup changes.
They put out their first album 'The Way of the Sun' in 2007, and songs like 'The Infinite Divide' show the kind of hard rock and progressive metal they worked in. Kenny Johnson and Max Craven kept the band going through those changes, and they're still playing shows and putting out music.
Across The Sun formed in Los Angeles in 2004, with Todd Michael Hall on vocals and guitar, Matt Smith on bass, and Kenny Johnson on drums. A few years later, Hall and Smith left the band, leaving Johnson and guitarist Max Craven to find new members, with the lineup eventually including Dave Middlebrook on vocals and guitar and Joey Johnson on bass.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
