Actions to Onslaught formed in Birmingham, England in 1992. The band included vocalist Adrian Archer, guitarists Chris Carroll and Peter Pyrotechnic, bassist Dave Davies, and drummer Matt Mitchell. They built a following in the local metal scene before releasing their debut album 'Abstraction' in 1995.
That album's title track became something of a calling card for the band, alongside songs like 'Canis Canem' and 'Hands Of Control.' Archer's lyrics often dealt with philosophical themes, which drew both dedicated fans and some criticism at the time.
After 'Abstraction,' the group went on to release several more albums through the 1990s and 2000s, including 'Machines of Dissent' in 1998 and 'The Grand Deception' in 2001.
