A.C.T.O. formed in 2006 in Medellín, Colombia, with Eduardo López on vocals, Héctor Mejía on drums, Camilo Restrepo on bass, and Felipe Rójas on guitar. Their debut album came out in 2008, sharing its name with the single 'Quiero Confesarte.' That song became their breakout hit, a ballad about unrequited love that connected with listeners across Latin America.
After López left the band in 2013, Juan Camilo Marín took over as lead vocalist. The group kept releasing albums through the 2010s, including 'Inesperado' in 2010 and 'Sueños' in 2012. Their sound stayed in that pop lane where 'Quiero Confesarte' had found its audience, even as some critics questioned its commercial direction.
They put out records fairly regularly, with 'Adrenalina' in 2014, 'Eternidad' in 2016, 'Renacer' in 2018, and 'Sentir' in 2020. The lineup change didn't stop their output, and Marín's voice became part of their sound for those later albums.
