Archive material and source history
Ad Inferi formed in Oslo, Norway in 2005, started by vocalist Leah Lucena and guitarist Christian Hagen. They released their debut EP 'Carnivora' in 2007, followed by full-length albums like 'Casus Luciferi' in 2009 and 'Oath of the Serpent' in 2011. The band's lineup included drummer Markus Nødtvedt and bassist Erling Haaland.
Their song 'Snake and Apple' became one of their better-known tracks, released as a single in 2012. They put out another album called 'Firewalk' in 2014. Their music worked within black metal territory, with Lucena handling vocals and Hagen on guitar.
Some of their lyrics touched on darker themes that drew occasional criticism, but they kept making music along those lines. They were one of many bands operating in that Norwegian scene during those years.
