Adelphia formed in Centereach, New York in 1998, originally calling themselves Ash. The band was made up of four siblings: Christina Perri on vocals, Mark Perri on guitar, David Perri on bass, and Matt Perri on drums. They released their independent debut album 'The Way You Want It' in 2004.
The album included 'Do Your Worst,' a song that got radio play across the United States. Adelphia also recorded other tracks like 'Implore Paz' and 'Lost At Sea.' Their lyrics sometimes drew criticism for being outspoken, but they kept performing until disbanding in 2014.
