Ademacir

Ademacir formed in Curitiba, Brazil, in the late 1980s around Ademar Vieira and Sandro Salles. They played small venues and festivals locally for years before their self-titled debut album in 1997. That record included 'Hoje Eu Quero Cantar,' which became a national hit and pushed the band to wider recognition.

Their music mixed folk, rock, and reggae, with lyrics that sometimes drew political attention. After the debut, they released albums like 'Só Pra Dizer Que Te Amo' and 'A Vida É Bela,' which kept them popular through the late 1990s and early 2000s. In 2010, their song 'Não Sou Eu' faced plagiarism accusations from an Italian singer, though the existing history doesn't say how that was resolved.
