Ademar Pereira grew up on a ranch in Camaquã, Rio Grande do Sul, where his father played accordion. He started performing at local festivals and rodeos before recording his first album in 1986. That record was called 'Pó do Pampa,' and its title track became his signature song.
'Pó do Pampa' and 'Linda Viagem' are among his best-known work. His music often dealt with gaucho life in southern Brazil, though some of his lyrics touched on social issues that drew criticism at the time. He kept recording and performing for years after that initial breakthrough.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
