Adler's Appetite was an American hard rock band that formed in Los Angeles in 1985. The original lineup included vocalist Matt Sorum, guitarist Slash, bassist Duff McKagan, and drummer Steven Adler. They signed with Geffen Records in 1987 and released their debut album, "Appetite for Destruction," which became a commercial success.
One of their most recognizable songs is "Civil War," a ballad from their debut that addresses the realities of armed conflict. They also recorded covers like "Draw The Line" and "Knockin On Heaven's Door," which appeared in their live sets and later releases.
Steven Adler was dismissed from the band in 1990 due to struggles with drug addiction. Sorum and McKagan also left around that time, leaving Slash as the only original member. The band continued with various lineup changes, but their output slowed after the early 1990s.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
