Adorable was an English indie pop band from Coventry that formed in 1990. They put out four albums between 1991 and 1994, starting with 'Blinder' and ending with 'Homesongs.' Their sound had jangly guitars and catchy melodies, with songs like 'Sunshine Smile' and 'I'll Be Your Saint' showing their knack for mixing upbeat tunes with more introspective lyrics.
They were on Creation Records for a while, but there were disagreements with the label about creative control and money. In 1994, they also got into a legal fight with another band over who could use the name Adorable. The band members had some personal struggles with substance abuse during those years, which didn't help matters.
Adorable broke up in 1995, not long after their last album came out. Their music, especially 'Sunshine Smile,' still gets played on indie radio and pops up on playlists now and then. Other bands have mentioned them as an influence, but they never really got the big commercial break some of their Britpop peers did.
