Adotados do Rei formed in 1999 in São Paulo, led by André Valadão. They started as a quartet playing music rooted in their faith. Their song 'Ele é Jesus' became particularly well-known among their listeners.
Their debut album 'Ao Vivo no Maracanã' came out in 2005. They followed it with other albums including 'Fé,' 'Milagres,' and 'Nação Adoradora.' Their music mixed contemporary pop with Brazilian rhythms and worship themes.
Some of their lyrics and approach drew criticism at times, but they continued performing. Their live shows developed a reputation for being energetic and uplifting for audiences.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
