Adrian Smith is an English guitarist who joined Iron Maiden in 1980, just as the band was gaining momentum. He's been part of their lineup through albums like The Number of the Beast and Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, contributing guitar work and co-writing songs including 'Flight of Icarus' and 'The Trooper.'
Outside of Iron Maiden, Smith has maintained a solo career that began with 1989's Silver and Gold. His 1997 album City of Light gave its name to one of his better-known solo tracks, alongside songs like 'The Lion' and 'A Quarter To Heaven.'
He briefly left Iron Maiden in the early 1990s, returning in 1999. Since then he's continued with both the band and his own projects, releasing solo albums like Psycho Magnet in 2006 and Against the Grain in 2015.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
