Adriel Favela grew up in San José de Gracia, Sinaloa, and later moved to Tijuana in his early twenties. He started playing in local bars there before signing with Sony Music Latin. His debut album 'Un Canto para Mi Tierra' came out in 2016.
His song 'La Escuela Nunca Me Gustó' connected with listeners who felt outside traditional education. Favela's music often mixes corridos with ballads, as heard on tracks like 'Con Un Botecito A Pecho' with Carin Leon and 'Bayo 17' with Luis R Conriquez.
Some of his corridos have drawn criticism for their subject matter, which Favela has addressed by saying he's reflecting realities around him. He performs with musicians including Christian Sánchez on accordion and Daniel González on bass.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
