Aero Rock formed in Rio de Janeiro in the early 1980s with vocalist Renan Basilio, guitarist Rafael Moreira, bassist João Paulo, and drummer Caio Cezar. They started playing hard rock when that sound wasn't getting much attention in Brazil, and they had to work for every gig they could get in those early years.
In 1992, they released the album 'Galera' with the title track that became their biggest hit. That song connected with Brazilian youth in a way few rock songs had before, turning into something like a national anthem for a generation. They followed it with other albums like 'Insônia' in 1995 and 'Rock n' Roll' in 1999.
The band's lineup has stayed remarkably stable over the decades, with those same four members still playing together. They've taken breaks here and there, but they keep coming back to record and perform songs like 'Garota Da TV' and 'Por Sentir Saudade' for audiences who grew up with their music.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
