Aerobanda formed in São Paulo in the mid-1980s, mixing rock and pop with Brazilian rhythms. Their singer was Cazuza. In 1986 they put out "Coração Verde-Amarelo," a song about Brazil's green and yellow colors that caught on with listeners. They also recorded tracks like "Mexe Coração" and "Papa Essa, Brasil!"
Cazuza died in 1990. The band had released albums including "Aerobanda" in 1986, "10.000 Destinos" in 1989, and "Uma Outra História" in 1990. After Cazuza's death, Zé Renato sang with the group for a while. The original lineup included Arnaldo Brandão and Roberto Frejat on guitars, Luiz Carlos Maluly on bass, and Marcelo Bonfá on drums.
