Aeroilis formed in Brazil in 2003 as a rock band with four members: Rodrigo Tavares on vocals and guitar, Guilherme Esteves on bass, Eduardo Marques on drums, and Bruno Alves on keyboards. They put out their first album Aurora in 2005, followed by Flores in 2008, Navegador in 2011, Momentum in 2014, and Aether in 2018.
Their song 'Cega Inocência' became particularly well-known, along with tracks like 'O Tempo' and 'Não Importa Mais'. In 2009, some listeners interpreted lyrics in their song 'Anjo Caído' as disrespectful toward the Catholic Church, which led to public protests and discussion about artistic expression.
They kept recording and touring through those years. The band's sound stayed within a rock framework, with Tavares's vocals and the group's arrangements giving their music a recognizable presence in the Brazilian scene.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
