Archive material and source history

Die Ärzte formed in 1982 with Farin Urlaub, Bela B. Felsenheimer, and Jan Vetter. They started with punk influences but soon mixed in new wave, rock, and metal. Their lyrics often used satire and dark humor to talk about politics, religion, and society.

In 1993, their song 'Schrei nach Liebe' sparked a national debate about homophobia. They've released albums like 'Debil' in 1984, 'Ist das alles?' in 1988, and 'Planet Punk' in 1995. Some of their well-known songs include 'Junge', 'Männer Sind Schweine', and 'Westerland'.

Jan Vetter left the band in 1988 and was replaced by Rodrigo Gonzalez. They kept recording, putting out 'Le Frisur' in 2007.
