Afrodite Se Quiser formed in Rio de Janeiro in 1982 with Léo Jaime as lead vocalist and songwriter. Their debut album 'A Vida é Bela Zeca' came out that same year, followed by records like 'Sausalito' in 1983 and 'Samba Rock' in 1985. The band's sound mixed pop and rock with Brazilian rhythms, and their lineup included musicians like Wilson Teixeira on drums and Marcelo Drummond on bass.
One of their most recognizable songs is 'O Que Que Ela Tem Que Eu Não Tenho?', a straightforward pop track about unrequited love that became widely known. Other songs in their catalog include 'Ah Eu Vou', 'Canção Para Inglês Ver', and 'Coisa Linda'.
The band released several albums through the 1980s, including 'A Bala da Lei' in 1986, before disbanding in 1990. Their music continues to be played on Brazilian radio, particularly songs like 'O Que Que Ela Tem Que Eu Não Tenho?' and 'Estúpido Cupido'.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
