After the Smoke was an American rock band from Los Angeles that formed in the early 2000s. The original lineup included Cody Carson on vocals and guitar, Jake Henderson on bass, Ryan Beebe on guitar, and Chris Payne on drums. They built a reputation for energetic live shows before recording their second album, 'The Life and Times of a Teenage Rock Star,' in 2004.
That album contained 'Drunk Bitches,' a single that got significant radio play and helped the band reach a wider audience. They followed it with several more records, including 'Love, Lust, and Addiction' in 2006, 'Radio Revolution' in 2009, and 'Generation X' in 2012. Other songs from their catalog include 'Oiam,' 'Night Crows,' and 'Typical Weekend.'
The group went through some personnel changes over time. Chris Payne left in 2007 and was replaced by Brian McCleary on drums. Cody Carson departed in 2015 to work on solo material.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
