Agent Orange formed in Southern California around 1979, with Mike Palm on vocals and guitar. Their early sound was part of the hardcore punk scene that was taking shape in the early 1980s. The 1981 EP 'Living in Darkness' included songs like 'Bloodstains' and 'Everything Turns Grey' that became staples of their live sets.
That EP grew into their debut album, also called 'Living in Darkness,' which came out in 1981. They kept recording through the 1980s and 1990s, putting out albums like 'This Is the Voice' in 1986 and 'Visiting the Dead' a decade later. Tracks such as 'Bored Of You' and 'A Cry For Help In a World Gone Mad' show the mix of fast tempos and melodic guitar lines that defined their approach.
After some lineup changes and a break in the early 2000s, Palm revived the band in 2004. They've continued to play shows and put out music since then, with songs like 'The Last Goodbye' and 'Too Young to Die' in their catalog.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
