Agents of Satan came up through the underground metal scene in the early 1990s. Their debut album 'Black Metal Bat' arrived in 1994, and the title track became something of an anthem for a certain corner of the genre. The band's lineup included Legion on vocals, Desciple on guitar, Warlock on bass, and Possessor on drums.
Their lyrics and themes drew criticism from some quarters, which made it harder for them to secure a major label deal. They remained independent, which meant touring was often a challenge. They followed up with 'Born to Blasphem' in 1996 and 'The Reign of Terror' in 2000, the latter showing some willingness to experiment with industrial and doom elements.
