Agustin Magaldi

Agustín Magaldi was born in Mendoza, Argentina in 1898. He started performing as a guitarist and singer in local dance halls before joining Roberto Firpo's orchestra in 1923. That collaboration produced recordings like 'Andá Con Tus Amigos,' which became one of his signature songs.

Magaldi recorded over 200 songs during his career, including tracks like 'A Que Has Venido' and 'De Mi Tierra Criolla.' His voice had a particular quality that worked well with the tango orchestras of the time, which sometimes included musicians like Juan Canaro on bandoneon and Enrique Delfino on piano.

He died in 1938 at age 39. While the existing history mentions controversies about his lifestyle, what remains are the recordings themselves, songs that still get played when people want to hear that particular era of Argentine tango.
