Aidimes Aquino formed in São Paulo in the early 2000s, with a lineup that included guitarist Rodrigo Santos, bassist Felipe Andreoli, and percussionist André Mehmari. They started playing small venues and festivals, gradually building a following. In 2004, they released their debut album 'No Tempo Dele,' which featured the title track that became a hit. The album helped bring them more attention, though some critics questioned their vocal style.
Their music draws from Brazilian folk, jazz, and pop. Songs like 'Deus é Santo' and 'Mulher Sábia' show their blend of these influences. They released several more albums, including 'Sinal de Vida' in 2006 and 'Coisa Boa' in 2009. Later additions to the band included keyboardist Paulo Braga and drummer Glauco Ayala.
Aidimes Aquino's live performances were known for their energy. They kept a relatively stable core lineup while incorporating other musicians over time. Their recordings include tracks such as 'É Chegada a Hora' and 'Se Cumpriu a Promessa,' which reflect their musical approach.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
