Aika Yoshioka was born in Saitama, Japan in 1984. She started with piano lessons as a child and began singing seriously in her teens.
Her debut single 'Izayoi Namida' came out in 2005. The ballad did well commercially and earned her a Japan Record Award for Best New Artist. Another early track, 'Maikaze,' also became part of her catalog.
She released several albums including 'Innocence,' 'Ashita no Sora,' 'Chou,' and 'Lilith' between 2005 and 2010. In 2009 she took a break due to vocal cord issues, then returned to recording and performing.
