Aikatsu! Stars was an all-female Japanese idol group that formed in 2012. They built a following with energetic pop songs like 'Calendar Girl,' which became something of an anthem for their fans. The group had six members: Hoshino Yume, Sakuraba Rinko, Kirigaya Yurika, Tadokoro Haruka, Amahane Madoka, and Shibuki Ran.
They released a string of singles over the next few years, including 'Prism Spiral' in 2013 and 'Moonlight Destiny' in 2014. 'Kirakira Summer' arrived in 2015. Like many idol groups, they operated under the intense scrutiny and pressure of that industry, which reportedly took a toll on some members. Rumors of internal conflicts also surfaced during their run.
