Akbar

Akbar was a Pakistani pop band led by vocalist Nazia Hassan, whose song "Hot Ya Hot" became a significant hit. They released albums like "Aap Jaisa Koi," "Boom Boom," and "Disco Deewane," blending traditional Eastern melodies with contemporary disco beats. Other songs in their catalog include "Battle Cry," "Those Who Say," and "Bigga Dey Come."

The band's lineup included Nazia Hassan on vocals, her brother Zoheb Hassan as co-vocalist, cousin Amir Hassan on drums, and guitarist Tariq Hussain. Their music incorporated Western influences alongside Pakistani sounds, which drew some criticism from conservative quarters at the time.

Akbar's work helped shape Pakistani pop music in the 1980s, with "Hot Ya Hot" remaining one of their most recognizable tracks. Their recordings show a group experimenting with different styles while maintaining a pop sensibility.
