Archive material and source history
Aki Starr formed in Los Angeles in the early 2000s with Akira "Aki" Sato on vocals, Ethan "E" Jones on guitar, Leo "Lee" Davis on bass, and Jake "Jakey" Wilson on drums. Their debut album 'Echoes of the Past' came out in 2006, featuring the single 'Treasure of My Heart' that got some alternative radio play.
Guitarist Ethan Jones left the band in 2010, leaving Sato as the main songwriter. They put out two more albums, 'Whispers in the Dark' in 2012 and 'Ashes to Ashes' in 2017.
What remains are those three albums and a handful of songs that found an audience. 'Treasure of My Heart' is the one people still mention when the band comes up.
