AL3JANDRO is a Colombian trio from Bogotá made up of brothers Alejandro and Andrés Vanegas with their cousin Juan Cristobal Sanabria. They started playing in local bars and clubs around the city before putting out their first album, "La Colección," in 2004. That record mixed pop and rock with Colombian rhythms, a sound they kept developing on later albums like "Loco Amor" and "Cambio de Juego."
In 2011, their song "Loca" became a worldwide hit, reaching number one in more than twenty countries. The track's music video, featuring Alejandro Vanegas, spread quickly online. Around the same time, they released another album called "Laberinto" in 2012. Other songs like "So Good" and "We Own the Night" also became popular with listeners.
A few years later, in 2015, the group got into a legal dispute over the rights to "Loca." The case ended with a settlement that gave songwriting credit to Yadam González. Despite that, AL3JANDRO kept performing and recording, known for energetic shows and a style that pulled from different genres.
