Alacranes Musical formed in Mazatlán, Sinaloa in the early 1990s with vocalists Alfredo Ramírez and Jorge Valenzuela, accordionist Ernesto Barajas, and bassist Luis Ángel Silva. Their debut album 'El Alacrán Tumbao' came out in 1994, setting up their norteño style with polkas and corridos. They followed with albums like 'El Alacrán Enamorado' in 1997 and 'Corridos a Quemarropa' in 2003.
Their song 'Dame Tu Amor' became a staple, and they've recorded other tracks like 'Andar Conmigo' and 'Por Quien Me Dejas'. In 2004, they faced threats from organized crime, which led Alfredo Ramírez to leave for safety reasons.
Jorge Valenzuela and Luis Ángel Silva remain in the current lineup, which includes Alejandro Rábago, Jorge Luis Valenzuela, David Coronel, Mario Sauceda, and Sergio Reyna. They've put out more than twenty studio albums, including 'El Alacrán de Oro' in 2007 and 'Desde el Rancho' in 2012.
